Rasboras

Are all Rasboras shoaling fish? I'm thinking of getting some Dwarf Emeralds from Kesgrave for my 21L but I'm not sure if I need to have 6 or if I can get away with 4 maybe.

I had 6 of the Emerald Dwarf Rasbora`s delivered this morning Twinkle for my shrimp tank. I already have 6 of the Mosquito Chilli Rasbora in the tank but felt it could do with a few more fish in there.

After seeing mine swimming around together I`d definitely say they are shoaling fish, all 6 of the Chilli Rasbora`s stick together but seperate from the Emeralds (who are also staying together).

I personally have 4 of each rasbora. They are shoalers through and through. I have 4 scissortail and 4 harlequin. They don't really comingle at all and seem quite content. I probably wouldn't go any less than 4 though. 6 is probably a little more ideal I imagine.

Thanks guys. I'm trying to make this tank a "low maintence one" so I've gone for plastic plants this time. I've just got them from P@H and I'm impressed how good they look

Yes I got them from Kesgrave Tropicals and I`m very happy with them.
They`re fine now that they`ve had time to settle in. Very pale at first which is to be expected what with being packaged up and travelling but their colours have already started to come out.

The only thing I`d be concerned about is the plastic plants you have......do they have 'soft leaves' on them? I ask only because these fish are pretty small and the first thing I`d think is that 'spiky' plastic could damage them in some way......or maybe it`s just me being a worrier though

Nooo, they're bog standard P@H ones. Do you really think I should be worried?

Mind you, I could use this as my argument why we should get Sparkling Gourami instead
