I have a serious problem.

For the longest time I have wanted to breed ramshorns. So I got a few. Some reds and some blues. The blues I put in my 10 gallon, filtered, heated, divided betta tank. The reds I put in my 5.5 gallon walstad tank.

I put cuttle bone in the water, there is also a few oak leaves to provide tannins for the betta. I feed cucumber and carrot as well as fish food.

Today I found three dead snails.

I don't know what to do. I see a few snail eggs in the blue snail tank, but I never see any baby snails!

In the red snail tank I never see eggs. Can someone help?

Thanks!

How old are the snails?
If the snails are more than 3 months old they should breed.

Is the water quality good (0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, nitrates less than 20ppm)?

Make sure the pH is above 7.0 and GH is above 150ppm.

Feed them regularly and they should breed like snails.

Medications and poor water quality are the biggest killer of snails.
