the female can spawn twice?? mine was totally skinny after she spawned... how bout she still have eggs to spawn again?

Well, it has been a week since the male released the fries and he normally holds on to them for about 2 weeks so its been 3 weeks since she spawned. Also, I have another female in the same tank, so who know...

No premature conclusions, I'm gonna wait and see what happens...

wow, how big are the now? is that how big they get in 6 days?!?!

also, my male has found a spot under a rock... he seems to be digging it out he was doing it for awhile yesterday. can they make their nest other then is wood? ... he also seems to be fanning. But i check both the females and they are still soooo fat!

I _think_ the ones I've introduced earlier into this tank are slightly larger, but not by more than 2mm or so. I can see clearly the size differences.

So they are still pretty small...

I believe they are known to spawn in various types of caves - wood, rocks, PVC pipes, bamboo and tera cota pots...

so you think its spawning time?? I just walked in the and hes chasing the females round abit. hopefully this could be it! i aint gonna stuff it up this time!

My plan : Is to leave the fry in with the dad till they are catchable
i dont know how you caught the little ones!

My male chased my female around for ages then he egan cleaning out the cave (which is actually a ceramic car).....he would still come out for food.....soon after he wouldn't come out...not even for food....that was from when the eggs were there till when he released the fry....even then, the fry still spent most of the time in the cave with dad He is such a good father too....all the other fish get chased off the cucumber and zucchini, except his babies!!

i wish i didnt take the eggs from the dad when mine were breeding, I would love to see this good father at work!

it happens in PVC pipes for me

our female seems to lay eggs evey 4-5 weeks so far.

we caught the fry using a larger than normal air tube... and sucked them into it - then let them out into their new home. that was after using a clean watercolour paint brush and a ferrero rocher tub... the tube was a lot eaisier!

It should be ok in your 55g...
