Raised Hardness?!

I tested my water today and its usually 240m/l Its 290?! My king British test kit says that's a bit high.. How could i lower it?

Mix it with RO.

RO stands for reverse osmosis. RO water is water that's completely pure, it's completely neutral and has no minerals whatsoever. However, I'd probably advise against using RO water if you don't need to. What fish are you keeping? Like pH, trying to cause sudden or big changes in hardness is likely to be more trouble than it's worth.
