can 6 rainbow sharks go with a red devil and parrot fish in a 55 gallon tank? I have a 29 with 4 very unhappy rainbow sharks in it. I want to get two more rainbow sharks to lower aggression. My sister is setting up a 55 gal in 4-5 months so when they start getting bigger I could put them in there, but she has parrot fish and is planning on getting a red devil. Is this a good idea.

The red devil may make a snack outta rainbow sharks....I've heard about red devils attacking their owner while cleaning a tank.....I think your sister should keep a close eye on the red devil especially if it's a lot bigger than the parrot fish...i didn't know that more rainbow shark would slow down agression I thought It was the other way around....should be only 1 species of shark on a small space....

well my source on the lowered agression is the fish tag at my local wallmart. It said 1 or 6 in a tank. So it's definitly debateable.

well the problem with me getting my own 55 is this. Common pleco. 6 rainbow sharks = 36" + 20" = 56" man a common pleco and 6 rainbows in a 55 is just a little boring. SO if I end up getting a replacement tank I will need atleast a 100 gallon, anybody know any good deals?

the common would actually do well with your sister's cichlids (if i recall). he should be plenty big by the time the parrot and devil catch up. mine just grew an inch and a half in two months!

guess what pica. She got conned by her lfs too. She has a 7 inch common pleco in with her cichlids. two commons in a 55 would not leave much room for cichlids but it would leave a WHOLE lot of poop. no go i guess

what to do? is there a way to stop lfs from selling commons into ten gallons?
