Well the BIG RED FISH is no more, he committed suicide wednesday night.

Just cured him of the very minor case of fin rot( I think I got OCD cause I spend hours with my fish every day) and he jumped ship. I think I was sleepwalking and fed em, forgetting the lid being open and going back to bed.

Sad part is he had just gotten el natural decor.

aww R.I.P clifford :rip:

Worst part for me was having to tell me daughter about it. The other bad part was I stepped on him, thought it was a leaf, looked down, and there was Clifford, looking like betta jerky.

I am interested in another one, however I want one thats rather flashy, It is the showpiece fish, my angels are just the challenge of raising to adulthood then giving them to an old folks home for their aquarium thats professionally kept by the guys I got the baby angels from.

You stepped on him??? God that would of been horrible to wake up and see while sleep walking! You poor thing :(

How did your daughter take it?

He was a pretty boy :) Maybe pput a sheet over your tank when you nap so its harder for you to get into :p

Oh poor poor betta.
Silly little creatures jumping for terrible terrible freedom! BLEH on stepping on him! I know if any of our fish jumped for it, they'd be cat or dog food in no time.
He was a pretty boy... I'm sure whatever betta you get next if you so choose will love that home

Awww, thats the pits, poor Clifford.....condolences.
I had 6 tiger barbs in my 50 gallon and they all came down with a nasty case of thie wierd fungus....so I put them in a hospital tank to treat them. Next day I came into the basement to find all of my tiger barbs on the floor....not only did I step on one, but my dog ended up eating two of them before I could clean them up....EEWWWW!!

Im so sorry about clifford, thats exactly what bruce did, got up in the morning to find him on the floor, i couldn't put a lid on the tank at the time as i had to make some alterations. It's really upsetting x x

Well I put those battery operated alarms for windows and doors on the tank lid and my bedroom door.

She said( my daughter) that he is at the store buying clothes and he will be back later, not now but later. I said OK.

Yeah I didn't like stepping on the piece of fish jerky but he was long dead, cat would a gotten him but cat was in my room, which helped me come to the conclusion that I am still sleep walking. I was looking for a new betta today, I cant find anything quality, I mean my Pets-mart(petsmart) that I usually get my livestock from had a very fin rotted selection even the females were fin less. I raised a stink told em to take care of their investments better.

What oh what would go good in the tank, white bottom, live plants, big ol chunk of mopani, got 69 watts of light on the tank 2@ 6500K and one @ 8500K.

I want COLOR something vivid that makes the fish POP out from the rest of the stuff in the tank, Believe it or not the RED blended in very well with the tank , somedays Clifford was invisible yet he was just hanging out near the Mopani wood.

what is a docile betta? more so then what slendens offer, I love Splendens but I want to try a different sub-species.
