Kinda devastating the Tigerfish died in the end, poor thing.Saw this species on "River Monsters" a few weeks ago and was in awe at that set of teeth!
Like the host of the program, I was quite gutted that the one he caught took a "big hit" on a rock while being reeled in, which led to its death a couple of hours later (so bloke took it to local village for some serious chunky fillets).
There are some fish in this world that should never be brought into the pet industry and the Goliath Tigerfish is one of them...
On a sidenote, as regards those "friendly" Amazon fish, Crocodile Toothpick Fish were/are available at the Titchfield Maidenhead Aquatics!(Guess they need tiny tankmates, so this one cannot swim into gills and rupture major blood vessels, often killing victim in wild)

River monsters IS a fantastic program. I love the one where they try to catch that massive female pregnant Freshwater Giant Stingray, and due to the stress, she gives birth prematurely while she got caught. However she and her babies got released safely, incase anyone was wondering. It was very touching and a tiny bit emotional
