Tetratec ones are very quiet. It might depend on how powerful you need it to be but my Tetratec 100 is almost silent inside my cabinet. It's still audible but merely a low hum. I'd bet your fridge would be noisier!

None are silent so mine is in the garage with a very long connecting airline into the house!!

Quietest ones I've ever used were the rotary piston ones, and even they're not silent. I wish I had my old one back but nobody is making them anymore.

My Tetra Whisper 40 is perfect for my 40 gallon tank and is barely there I have the tank in my room and its on over night doesn't bother me a bit! So i'd say any Tetra pump should do!
