My filter has been very poor so please read below..

Update :

I have just got home from work and stopped at my LFS at asked for there advice, they said it could be the impellor aswell.... Anyway got home taken the impellor out and nothing dirty there whatsoever, spins fine !

I then looked at the sponges of which the white one is now brown so gave that a little clean but looks like i could do with a new one !

I then thought id try the pump with no sponges.. wow it was good just like it should be !

ANYWAY..... i then noticed that at the bottom of my filter section i have a random blue sponge just sitting there for no reason on its own with a gap... i took it out and now the filter is MUCH better... is this needed ?? i have the white one, black green and blue now justt in the tank all clumped together in a neat section.. the other extra was a random blue one but when thats in the filter it slows down badly !!!

Can i leave it like this as its perfect, witht he other one its not (dont want any problems) you see

Hopefully its ok

Is it a juwel tank, right clean the top filter floss which is white, rinse the blue sponge in some old tank water, never under the tap, i think the green sponge is a nitrate sponge give that a very slight rinse in old tank water, but not to much, don't wan't to lose to much of the beneifical bacteria, and go into a mini cycle.

It is perfect as it is now BUT am i ok to take the 2nd blue sponge out that was randomly at the bottom in its own section on its own ??

Without this its perfect.

ps - yes its a jewel tank

No don't remove the blue sponge it's very important, it where your beneifical bacteria lives, throw the black carbon sponge away you don't need that in the tank, only good for removing meds, how long has the green sponge been in as you have to replace them every so often.

As it satand i have one section (white, green, black and blue ) i think its that order..

Then i have another section with a big gap then a blue sponge (which i took out) does this have to be on then because with this in filter is very poor.. Also do these sponges have to be pushed to the very bottom ? seems strange to have this extra section with a gap (i guess for another sponge not required, then this random blue one !

(had tank for about a month)

Taken from that site mate:

The bottom sponge (if existing) repeat the above program at twelve weeks.

Does this mean i dont "have" to use it ? very worried because when this is added filter is sooooooooo weak

Right don't touch the blue sponges at all don't even rinse them,it's to soon your tank will still be cycling, just remove the carbon sponge which is black, all you need to touch at the moment, is the white filter floss at the very top you clean that once a week, yes the sponges you push them down to the bottom, have you cleaned the power head, juwel powerheads are not that good, i would recommend a back up filter to get more movement on top of the tank.

Have you cleaned all the tubing on the powerhead it might just wan't a good clean, as the flow alters when it want's cleaning, what type of fish do you have in the tank plus how many.

Yep checked out all the pump and its all fine, just found it strange having a big gap and then a blue sponge and bottom, then when taken out its perfect !!

Should i just leave it with all the sponges in then giving poor pump power ?

What juwel tank is it how many gallons.

You don't need the black sponge or the green in there, they put them in so you keep buying them to make money, you only need a black carbon sponge when you have used meds, this sponge helps to remove meds, but the blue sponges are very important, when you remove the black and green sponges squeeze the muck out of them onto your blue sponges so you are not losing any beneifical bacteria.

What postition do you have the outflow pipe in as i turn it upwards for a good flow towards the back of the tank hitting the glass, as i have the same tank.
