I found that out the hard way. 1 dead dwarf gourami and one missing half his fin.

depends on the temprement of the fish. Might work, might not.

I recently added a DG to a community tank where an angel rules the roost. The angel has barely given the DG a second look.

I wouldn't- both have territorial and aggressive tendancies (only a few gourami's are truly peaceful) and both occupy the same habitat space. I would pick one or the other (personally if it was me i would get Gourami's of some sort like Opaline Gourami's ^_^

v ). Make sure you researc either fish thoroughly as there are a lot of fish which shouldn't be mixed with Angels or Gourami's. Both fish however do best in planted tanks.
