Quick Question...

Males develop a pink belly and chin area when ready to breed.

Cheers,
Kayako!

Nope, other way around (so to speak). Females will have the bigger, brighter colored belly. The male have some coloring on his stomach, but it will not rival the female. It's one of those weird reversals. The female is prettier than the male.

Well he's growing a slight pinky colour on his belly and chin area. It could have been the bright light that made it look brighter.
He's still slimer than her and doesn't have "the eye spot" on his dorsal fin. He has the male markings and colourings but he has a slight pink belly. It's quite hard to see unless your looking for it. Should I re-scape the main tank with all fish out and try them together again? They really are spending a lot of time trying to get to each other through the glass...

Cheers,
Alessa!

Having not actually kept them / researched them all that much I'm not saying for certain eitherways. But this certainly backs up what alessaG is saying.

That's exactly where the pink is starting to show! Thank you for that curiosity.

The male in the picture is an extremely rare find. Most male kribs out there either lack any color on them, or they have a red patch on their stomach. I have about 30 krib fry and I don't remember the father even having any red on him when they bred. It depends on stock.

That's what my male is starting to look like...#

Well have fun breeding them, however it's a bit of a risk trying to breed them in a tank with the paradise fish. Is there anywhere else it could go?

I'm getting 2 more tanks that will be getting used for breeding the paradise fish when I'm ready and I've researched more. I have a female in a separate tank and she's really growing fast but I'm not breeding them till I have the time and experience to do it. The reason I'm getting 2 more tank is because the female already has her tank but I need one for the male and to raise the babies in when he has finished doing his part. Anyone know whether I should try the kribs together again or carry on waiting?

Cheers,
Alessa!

Last time they didn't bother the paradise fish... The Kribs and the paradise fish stick to their own.
Here are some pictures of my lovely kribs(still in separate tanks)
Female(she's staying near that side because that's the side she can see the male through)

Male(there's 2 pictures at different angles to show his colour)
He now has blue on his chin instead of pink.

Right new plan, Both kribs are in the smaller tank till they grow up a little bit. When they have grown up some they will be moved into the 15 gallon.
The smaller tank has the female paradise fish in and they get on with her better than the male, she stays away he didn't. There is a boat ornament in the smaller tank that is very suitable for them to breed in. The female has her breeding tube slightly down, the male doesn't. They are both very bright in colour, brighter than they were, and the female keeps "shimmying" in front of him. The thing is, the male was picking up sand and vibrating with it in his mouth in front of her. Also he won't let her in the boat ornament, but he's accepting her attempts to "woo" him... The only time she can go in is if he leaves it for a while, but when he sees her near it he chases her off.

Edit: Forgot the pictures...

(Look closely and young can see her breeding tube)
Female taking her chance to peek inside.
