so heres the thing iv got 3 female guppies and 2 males(yes i know there should be more females) and tons of guppy fry in a 15gallon tank. i have already traded in atleast 9 juvaniles, but have waymore practically newborne fry that my lfs wont take..... so my question is this is there any sort of predatory fish that i can keep in a tank that measures 24x12x12 that will have plenty of guppy fry to eat, but that wont get so big that it will eat my adult guppies?? also one other thing i just got 3 serpate tetras would they be ok in the tank with guppies after i get things a little bit more under control with the fry or even now??

GET A BETTA!
[siamese fighting fish!!!]
or in your case since you ahve a 15 gallon, either divide it in two and get two males [will definetly eat the guppy fry no problem!
But better yet--get 6 females or at least 4 or more [to spread out aggression] they're beautiful and quite nice pets to ahve :)

had the same problem, you just don't realise how much and how often gup's can reproduce  fun at first though! I moved on my females in the end. good excuse though for a little 34ltr which I am cycling for the fry but will end up housing a few pigmy cory and maybe a betta (will research first though)
most community fish will eat fry but ime you need to really cut down on their food and make them hungry (or maybe I have lazy fish!)
some will still survive though especially if you have cover so you may still get a bit overrun with guppies and knackered females....oops, can i say that
I feel really that it is better to choose whether to just have male or females of a species that are prolific reproducers :hey:

thanks guys i already have plenty of bettas even a tank full of females. i plan on trading in the females and getting afew more males, but im not sure what i want to keep in with them when i do start to restock the tank. it will have 2 cories which i plan on getting afew more of after i get the population under control a bit more, but what else could i put in with them that wont tare apart thier fins?? all i know is that i dont want any more livebearers unless they are all males.
