Quick Nitrites?

Ok so i'm on my third day of cycling (gone so quick!)

I've been adding the stress zyme by api and i've added the 5ppm of ammonia

I'm using the Api Master test kit

I've just done TWO nitrite tests and they all came out a lilac colour which is about 1ppm, on my third day!

Is this right?

My PH is around 8 still. And my ammonia has dropped by 0.5.. Didn't test nitrates.

Did you use mature filter material from another tank? - if so what you are experiencing could be very possible. I added mature filter media and never had any ammonia readings when I fishless cycled and only had a nitrite spike. Plus it only took aobut two weeks to cycle.
