Quick My Plecoo Noo

Was the white patch fluffy in appearance, i would preform a water change on your tank

ok, i did a water change this morning, should i still do one?

He's asking as a nitrate reading of 0 is quiet rare in fishkeeping, do you no your tap nitrate.

no ill do a test of my tap water now for you though. but my lil tester stick is white

Then I would suspect your results of your test kits are wrong :(
Leaving the shock option still viable.

You will always have nitrate in your tank - water changes reduce it but normally tap water actually has some it it when you add it back.

The only way to have a reading of 0 is to have a heavilly planted tank - with the plants using it up.

If the tests are old - they may be erronous.

Have you read that link, does it sound like he had that.

no it just looks like its missing a few scales
and my tap nitrate level is around 20
and sorry my tanks the same, it goes white after a while i thought i had to leave it like a minute or so.
so yes my tanks nitrate level is around 20

Not the writer of this information.
Scale Loss- If your fish are losing scales for no apparent reason (such as breeding) then it is commonly found to be caused from Myxosporidiosis. The only treatment for this is to keep doing water changes and get rid of the parasites. Symptoms: Fish gasping, pale gills. (back to top)
