Queston About External Filter?

hey, im currently running a elite 95litre fish tank. I have two filters in there running. One that came with it and also one from my old tank. Does a good job but not amazing. In every tank ive seen with an external filter it seems to do an even better job. I do want a new tank a bigger one but dont know when that will happen and wouldnt think it would be anytime soon. So can anyone reconmend a external filter that isnt to expensive but is quite good? The tank lid has two holes either side or the lid so im guessing it can fit an external filter? Thank you

Eheim classics are good value for money. Stay away from ecco's though lots of people have had problems with them. Fluval 105,205 ect are popular also although i have no experience of them.

I have the same tank and used a Tetratec EX700, very easy to set up and maintain, I even added a second one to cycle the filter before adding it to a new tank, hope this helps

Thanks for the replys! are externals worth the money? Would you reconmend them over internals? They look alot more powerfull. Ill have a look at some Eheim classics now thank you! i looked at Tetratec EX700 looks pretty good! You have the same tank take it does a really good job for you then. I looked on that wharehouse aquatics was just over £60 is that a good price for that filter? Is that a good price for an external? Cheers guys.

Well, SOME people have had problems with them not ALL.
Yours will hopefully be alright, just see how you go.

i'm planning on investing in an eheim 2213. For a little more cash the 2213 PLUS comes with taps. Do taps make life easier?

I have Fluval/Eheim/AquaOne. They are all the job, my favs would be the Fluval and the Eheim though. Do a far better job than internals (though i still run internals with the canisters)

I've only had experience with Fluval (a 305), but so far it has been very positive. Would recommend.

Extra water flow with the added bonus. I remove the sponges from them and fill them with noodles for bacteria colonization. That way if i ever need media for another new filter i have it readily available.

i have eheims and and aqua ones and for a small tank you can't go wrong with an aqua one aquis 500 or 700.
