I added him yesterday afternoon and he seemed to be okay in there. Later I notice the Bolivian Ram chasing him relentlessly. I rearranged the tank this morning but it didn't help so I moved the Ram to a new tank. It hasn't calmed him down.

He is constantly scanning the front glass of the tank like he wants out of there. A bit frantically.

The tank has a PH of 7.5, is this okay for them ? 0 nitrites, and nitrate around 10. The Angels and Danios aren't bothering him. He also appears a bit skinny but I don't see anything wrong with him other than that.

Are these fish really active ? If not, what could be wrong ? Thanks

what type of geophagus is it? allways wanted one but never had the space. What size tank as well? Might just be new fish settling in also is your substrate sand or gravel? And is it different to that of the shop some geos need sand but others will do fine with gravel but still they will move it around. Wills :)

They dont like being alone, so more than one is usually preferable. Your stats are ok and with the introduction he has had, he is stressed, give him a few days and he should calm down, but if your tank can handle another, I would add more.

I still do not know what type it is. There are 3 that I am looking at. I can't seem to get a good photo, so I will try video. If I knew for sure it wasn't going to get to the 8" mark + I would have taken two.

It is a planted, sand substrate tank. After feeding tonight, he spent a good time rummaging in the sand which was good to see. Now he is scanning the glass again.

It is a 56 gallon column. Too small for the future. I am getting a 125+ and moving some fish around from this one as well as the 75.
