Questions About Breeding/raising Fry Tank

I have recently bought a breeding/raising fry tank
and have several questions.

Firstly, i want to make several spawning mops - 2 that will float and another couple that will sink to the substrate. I know how to make them but my questions are:
1. Where is the best place to get hold of some acrylic yarn to make them with?
2. Whats the best way to make them sink?

Secondly (the following is hypothetical) lets say i put a trio of cherry barbs in the tank and they spawn in there, i then take the adults out amd then the fry hatch and are doing well. Lets say i spot some . . . gourami fry (or other) in my main tank, can i put the 'gourami' fry in the tank with the cherry barbs?

SORRY LONG QUESTION

And lastly what equipment should i put in the tank - e.g. heater filter air stone?
I already have a heater but should i have a mini filter too or just an air stone?

PLUS i already have a air pump for my main tank, can you get a dual piping system or something that can lead to both tanks e.g. two different airstones?

I'm all new at this but even I can address many of those:

1) Any hobby/craft store should have the yarn what you're looking for.

2) Tie it to something that sinks...an aquarium safe rock/decoration...


Don't know anything about advising you on what equipment to put in there but you can certainly buy a "gang valve" at your local fish store, which will take one air input from your pump and several air outputs (to air stones etc)

oh and also i forgot to ask
How long can a spawning mop stay in the water for without going bad?

I have heard storys that after a few days they sart to smell and collect germs.
