Is the tank light supposed to heat the water if oyu leave it on a long time? it seems mine does it from time to time...I was just asking to see what every thought..

I was always under the impression that florescent lights don’t give off any heat while incandescent lights do. Whats yours?

For mine, yes! coz I bought the whole aquarium as a kit so the 2 lights r fixed in the hood. I can feel the heat on top of hood, so not to mention inside the aquarium! So sometimes when I'm at home, I'll leave the hood open.

my water doesn't seem to be getting heated with the light on. i can feel the heat on the top of the hood though. i would leave my lid open, but then my fish would probably think they are about to get fed. i don't want to tease them

Florescent lights give off almost no heat. Other forms of light do give off more heat. I have florescent and I'm very happy with it.
