my sister is currently cycling a 28l tank (fishless, of course).it has an undergravel filter so if i want to give her some of my media how do i do it? just sprinkle it in and it drops? i've no idea how UGF works so excuse me if the question seems dumb!!

Take some of her media and squeeze it out in to the new tank :) you will have to do this more than once though if with there been no fish in it...

Or get a bottle of ammonia...

Or tetracycle (think thats the name)

Or suumat your lfs sells to cycle

i have foam media in my internal so just squeeze it in the water? how long to cycle a tank this small do u reckon?

1-2 weeks maybe, my 28l breeding tank cycled in a week...

Have you got test kits?

You will need to test the water whilst cycling it to keep a check on ammonia and nitrite levels... once you have stabalised the levels at 0ppm.. the cycle is done and the filter will be matured.

If you sqeeze out the media in to the tank and then when cleared, add fish and do a daily water change of 40% for a week, i think you will be fine.. what fish you adding?

ok 5teady thanks for your help. :good:
she's gonna get a betta and some corys i believe

If you do as i said on my last post, you should be fine :)
