i put a few snails in with my puffer but he did nothing and the snails died quickly in brackish water. what would some of my other options be for his teath. been feeding ghost shrimp and bloodworms mostly. lfs recomended putty a crawfish in there saying it could handle the brackish condition and that my puffer could take it on easily and thats its shell was hard enough to help the teath. Any advise on this lol

Eventually, the GSP will learn to eat the snails, but for now I would reccomend krill with shell on, shrimp with tail/shell, and as nmonks has said in a previous post smear some food in a porus rock and the puffer will dig into it trying to get the scraps out thus grinding the teeth down.

Go to the grocery store and get some crab or lobster legs, crack them a bit and then let the puffer do the rest.....you may have to wiggle them around in the water a bit to get the puffers attention.
As far a crawfish go, I feed them to my puffers all the time, I used to cut the claws off first but one of my puffers lets his crays live through a couple of molts, just rips off a few legs here and there. He has learned to remove the pinchers first with no trouble.

GSP sure does seem a little scared in that with the crawfish, dont know if i should remove it or not

Im going to be getting fig 8's, will they eat crawfish or ghost shrimp. I am pretty sure they will. Where do you pick up crawfish? I live on a river thats full of them but that seems like a bad idea to get them from the wild...but then again where does the store get them from?
