yes hello again...

umm PETCO is a pet store in the U.S. its very popular, not a small LFS but rather known around the country

they have on their website for sale a plant and its titled

plant on driftwood

okay now thats exactly what the picture is too here have a look

http://www.petco.com/Shop/Product.aspx?sku=1032437

i was wondering would i NEED CO2 for this plant?? or can i just set it up in my 10 gallon tank?

any thoughts? thank you

You can make this yourself. Pick out your own wood They sell mopani at petsmart, for $7-20 depending on the size and if its on sale. I got a 2 foot long piece for $7.

Anyways the plant on the wood is a type of Anubias most likely Anubias congensis. They sell these at Petsmart and petco for around $5. So get a $7 chunk of wood and a $5 Anubias congensis tie the plant to the wood and wait. It will soon grow its roots around the wood. Thats would I did. You could also use Java fern on wood. both types of plants are really hardy and do well in all kinds of conditions.

hey that sounds like a good idea thanks =)

but do i need CO2 for it? cuz i dont have the money really for the equipment

No Anubias congensis are hardy and can live in low light tanks that dont have co2 I have 2 and no co2 but I do add supplements to the water like flourish excel and its doing great.

this has been very helpful thank you =)

i just added three green tiger barbs to my tank with the three original tigers, i understand that they can appreciate the plantlife so i wanted to go simple and maybe start off small..

should i tie the plant to the wood and then put it right in the tank? or keep it separate and wait until the roots grow around the wood?

The plant in the ad, spathiphyllum wallisii, is a terrestrial plant called a peace lily. From what I have found on it, it will not survive very long submerged like it would be in an aquarium. As others have suggested, you would be better served tying your own aquatic plant to a random piece of wood.

hmm okay oldman lol you are wise

okay and um is it posibly to tie more than one plant of the same species to the same peice of wood or no?

should i just do one plant on one wood?

Hi, i have 2 small plants attatched to one piece of wood and they are growing well, as long as you leave a bit of room for growing you can tie as many plants as you like to the wood. :good:

You should post this in the plant section there are some really helpful plant people there. Not just any plant can grow on the wood. The anubias and java fern are the way to go this is how they grow.

But yes you just tie them on. I use rocks to hold them on some times. This is not as good as tying it on.

well thank you for all your help ^_^ i was really looking forward to adding live plants for my fish but couldnt afford the co2 and everything

this has been very helpful ^_^
