on this site do people go by imperial gallons or us gallons or litres?

my tank is 32 Us gallons, 125 litres, 27 imperial gallons.

what should i say it is?

There is no universal unit of mesurement. People use whatever they are used to. Just make sure to specify which you are using.

In general, when you see "Gallons" on this and other aquatic sites, it means US Gallons. It is only the US that still officially and routinely use Gallons. Where you need to be a bit careful is reading older text books which depending on their origin, may use Imperial Gallons, but not state that.

As said, if you state what you are using there can be no ambiguity, but most US types don't.
