I have just completed my fishless cycle of my 90L tank. I was originally going to go for Dwarf Puffers with Otto's and shrimp, now I am tempted to go for a F8 puffer and some Bumblebee Gobies which require brackish water (SG1.005) The question I have is can I take the water straight to that SG or do I have to take it up gradually ove a period of time (say 2 weeks) so as not to affect the bacteria that I ahve taken so long to build up.

Many thanks

No idea! (you're gettin' more advanced than me degsod! lol) Not aware that the two nitrifying species would be any different in brackish... seems unlikely. Technically I suppose the family mix if different bacterial species that always exist to some extent might be somewhat different in brackish (marine and fresh certainly use different species to some extent) but I suspect you could move right on to this slightly brackish water without a long wait like that. I don't know, maybe someone else will know or remember some tidbits of info!
