ammonia and nitrite read 0 i did another water change an hour ago

Ok, test again tonight and do another change to be on the safe side. How much did you change today?

It would be a good idea for you to get some extra filtration on there asap and you need to shift the acaras and loach asap, you have known for weeks now that they are unsuitable and done nothing about it.

Good to see that you are investing in a larger tank! The clown loaches and acaras will be fine in a 450L corner tank but it's still not big enough for a bgkf!

The only problem with corner tanks is that that the swimming length of the tank is reduced due to it's shape. I think you need a 6ft long tank at least for a bgkf, I'm sure someone else will be able to confirm this.

The only problem with corner tanks is that that the swimming length of the tank is reduced due to it's shape. I think you need a 6ft long tank at least for a bgkf, I'm sure someone else will be able to confirm this.

its a 450 juwel vision, bgkf can and wil live in them, corner tanks are for cichlids IMO

clown loach and acaras are going in my 450 litre and nowhere else until i get the tank the tank will be bought asap thanks

hmmm... after a 50% change last night your ammonia will have dropped to 0.5ppm, a 33% change today would only drop that to about 0.35ppm (and that is assuming it did not rise again overnight)

How old is your test kit/what is the use by date?

Wow... you aren't taking this seriously at all are you.

You're hurting your fish. And when people ask for the water stats they don't want you to tell them they're "fine", you have to give the numbers... earlier you said they were "fine" and they were up above 1 ppm each, that's just asking for sick fish!!! They are all suffering!

You also don't seem to be able to read, people have been asking, did you cycle your tank, how did you cycle it, if you want any help you ought to answer instead of talking about the weather...

I'm not trying to be mean or put a damper on things and it's not like you can't be lighthearted on this forum but #### ####, your tank is in an emergency situation and you have told people twice the levels are "fine" and they have not ever been "fine", now don't ever say the levels are "fine" again!! If people ask what the levels are you give NUMBERS, not "fine" or "normal", you seem to have an incredibly misinformed view of what "normal" is. Otherwise why even bother asking for advice. Fine, kill your fish, I don't care, it's a shame but if you're not going to do a ###### thing about it, get out of here.

cant really find the BBE date i have it since shealgh said i needed it, i used to go to my lfs with a container of water and they checked it, ok i'll do another 33% water change at about 8:00 PM

No, 33% water changes won't get the level down as much as you need. You need to do a 50% water change, or you'll just let the ammonia build up!

Can you people stop bickering? Let's just give advice.
John- We are just wondering what you would consider to be "normal". for the average aquarist, 0.25 ppm of ammonia would be abnormal and worthy of a 50% water change. At a level of 1 ppm you have to be thankful your fish are even alive. They likely have suffered permanent damage, and may have a severely shortened lifespan. Keep up with the 50% water changes, at least 2 times daily if not 3.

After doing a bit of reading I've found that you may get away with a bgkf in a 450 vision so I stand corrected BUT they are very very sensitive fish and are certainly not for beginners. You seem to be having probe with your current tank which are basic cycling probs that you should have researched and know about already.

I wouldn't put a bgkf in to your new tank when you get it until it has fully matured and you have a bit more experience. The bgkf will only tolerate low nitrate levels of <30 so you'd prob have to do 2 water changes a week.
