you need to do a water change of 50% right now and twice daily water changes until you get readings of zero for at least 3 consecutive days, then you can reduce to weekly.

it was brill 21*C was hot espically in ireland i went to get a chip and went to the beach and ate it on the way back i got a slush puppy and got brainfreeze a couple of times lol

i think its coz i were doing water changes on a 2 weekly basis and today is the day i do normally change it so thats why it was sky high ill check my readings now did a 50% water change

i agree you are harming your fish. do a couple of big water changes as stated by other posts and you should be doing at least 15 to 30% water change weekly.

okay, now what are your readings today? a 50% change will only have halved the ammonia and nitrite so it would still be at a harmful level, I'm concerned if you 'normally' have ammonia readings of 0.5....

Wow... you aren't taking this seriously at all are you.

You're hurting your fish. And when people ask for the water stats they don't want you to tell them they're "fine", you have to give the numbers... earlier you said they were "fine" and they were up above 1 ppm each, that's just asking for sick fish!!! They are all suffering!

You also don't seem to be able to read, people have been asking, did you cycle your tank, how did you cycle it, if you want any help you ought to answer instead of talking about the weather...

I'm not trying to be mean or put a damper on things and it's not like you can't be lighthearted on this forum but #### ####, your tank is in an emergency situation and you have told people twice the levels are "fine" and they have not ever been "fine", now don't ever say the levels are "fine" again!! If people ask what the levels are you give NUMBERS, not "fine" or "normal", you seem to have an incredibly misinformed view of what "normal" is. Otherwise why even bother asking for advice. Fine, kill your fish, I don't care, it's a shame but if you're not going to do a ###### thing about it, get out of here.

What water testing kit are you using?

The high ammonia and nitrite is not because you haven't changed the water for 2 weeks, it's because either the tank wasn't cycled properly or the filter can't cope with the waste being produced by your fish.

In a properly cycled tank with adequate filtration you could leave a tank for 4-6 weeks without a water change (not that you should) and your ammonia and nitrItes should still be zero, only your nitrAtes would be sky high in that scenario.

easy test liquid test kit, it just appears that the ammonia and nitrite are 0 coz of the colour of the solution the fish are all active now

in my cycling i did a fish less cycle and it took 2 months, i waited that long coz i wanted to make sure it was ok

What fish are in the tank?
What filtration do you have?

It seems to me that the most likely cause is inadequate filtration because if your tank was cycled properly then you should NEVER get an ammonia or nitrite reading, they should always be zero

the tank info is in my signature, and i use the internal juwel filter i think it'll end up in the dump soon coz its ####

If so, when did you add them? And which fish?

I know you're already aware that the tank isn't big enough for the acaras and clown loach

tiger barbs, 3 weeks ago, blue acaras and clown loach are being added to a grow out tank in a couple of months (i havent decided what fish tank yet, i think ill go for the 450 litre juwel, and add a black ghost knife, clown loaches, angelfish, blue acaras, so on) thanks
