Can I keep (temporarily to quarantine for a few weeks) 9 lambchop rasboras (probably juveniles) in a 5 gallon tank?

And then after that, quarantine 3 (probably juveniles) peacock gudgeons?

Yes they will be fine, make sure the tank is fully planted ( 50% of its volume )
😬😬 dont know if I can plant it... Sorry. I'll have some fast growing red rooters maybe but thats it... I will have a sponge filter and it will be cycled.

Lambchop Rasboras have to have plants to make them feel at home. There is no point in quarantining fish if they are going to be stressed, all they will do is get sick.

I can do fake plants... How do you think people with no plants at all handle them?

I would never do any of the community fish ( Tetras, Barbs, Rasboras, Live Bearers ) without live plants. One they give them security, two they provide an important part of their food source. So for me. No live plants, No fish.

There was a thread not to long ago where someone mentioned that FAKE plants ARE just fine because some people are unable to have live plants. And I dont have the capability to spend more money on plants that in the end will just be tossed in the garbage... Or I dont quarantine and hope for the best

Also, this is a category of opinion and not fact... With the correct cycle and having enough hiding spaces the fish will do fine.

Live plants are just as important as the fish. Every aquarist can keep live plants. Aquatic plants are just weeds and will grow very easily. The Aquarist just has to select the right plants for their system and provide them with the correct lighting and heat.

Ok it is my opinion, so you don't have plants. I will watch and see how long your fish live for.

But it is possible and totally fine (I'm saying this from other experienced aquarists on here) to house them without plants... Some people just cant do it (like me) and especially if its for a quarantine tank... They will be fine for a week or two

What do the bacteria do then? I just wont cycle then...
