Feeding live foods to your fish
A list of live food that is 100% safe.
White worm, grindal worm, earth worm,
Safe Fry foods
Brine shrimps, micro worms, vinegar eels,
And frozen foods are safe,
A very good frozen food is blood worm,

There is no risk of parasites from the above

There is a small Risk of parasites when feeding
Daphnia/ water fleas, Cyclops, mosquio larvae,and glass worm,
All are very good foods

I think most frozen foods are gamma irradiated to kill off any 'bugs'.

Not only that, but most frozen foods are also frozen, and kills off a great deal of the 'bugs' too! There aren't many microorganisms that can survive being frozen.

Can a defrosted blister pack be safely refrozen for future use?

I randomly found such a pack and threw it away earlier this week, but now wonder if I acted too hastily...

I've wondered that too. I had a freezer malfunction awhile back. All the blister pack stuff defrosted. I decided to give it a go once it'd re frozen but the bloodworm released alot of... 'blood' into the water and looked a bit brown and be draggled. Not what I percieve to be nutritional anymore anyways.

So I decided to chuck it and buy fresh (pets at home 5 for £10.. can't go wrong really).

I feed
Nutrafin cichlid pellets
JMC tropical granules
JMC catfish pellets
King british algae wafers
Frozen blood worm
Frozen brine shrimp
Fresh brine shrimp (I've started hatching them myself)
Fresh micro worms

The fish get a mixture of all through out the week. And I often give them a small feeding of pellets in the morning followed by frozen/live in the afternoon as I have youngsters to grow on and adults that I want to get into breeding condition.
