I have a porcupine puffer that I have had for about 8 months and all of the sudden he is not eating. I have been dealing with the local fish store and we have been trying different food but I am not having any luck. I am worried that I am going to lose him. Does anyone have any Ideas.

i bought some entyce from the fish store yesterday but it is not doing any good. I think I am going to have the owner come get my fish so he can watch it more closely for me.

What do you feed him? My porcupine used to get bored if I didn't feed him enough live food. One time he stopped eating for a week so I bought him a crayfish and he tore into it.

I was just asking because I know some people just feed their puffers, or fish in general, frozen or freeze-dried foods. I offer a wide selection of those along with live food to all of my tanks.

Garlic is a good idea too.

Does he have any signs of illness or just loss of appetite?

Not sure about saltwater puffers, but puffers in general stop eating when their teeth are overgrown. Might this be it?
