I have seen many puffers being kept with african cichlids, I wouldnt mind getting a few to diversify my tank, Has anyone seen this can it be done sucessfully?

I haven't tried it myself and wouldn't. It's simply asking for big trouble mixing two completely different yet equally aggressive types of fish. Have you seen these puffer/african mixes with your own eyes, with adult fish in the tank?

I believe i have, They dont seem to bother one another in the tank, The africans chill out on the bottom in the caves and the puffers just play around the top. I asked someone at the local petstore and he said he had an oscar a few cichlids a parrot a pleco and a few puffers in a 20 gallon, My first thought was wow you dont know anything and i decided against it.

Your 1st thought was right!

Haha yeah he was like and well they all get along fine, They are probably gonna snap and go mad and their is gonna be a massive crime spree or they will just lay down and die.

The fish for your avatar is beautiful what kind is it??? (for ferris)

Pseudotropheus Demasoni - a particularly vicious little Mbuna but yes a stunning fish and one of my favourites. :)

I have kept puffers with african cichlids and it worked until my stand cracked :-( no survivors
