i have a spare 15g tank thats heated and bottom filtered but no canopy and i love puffers but i was strong;y advised not to put them in my 25g so i took the advice and i want to make this a puffer tank any suggestions would help.eg(bottom, live plants, drift wood, rocks, anything :)

You're probably best going for dwarf puffers, personally I'd plant it fairly heavily to break up lines of site in the tanks. Depending on how many puffers you're going to put in there you want about enough caves + about another 2-3 to give them a good pick.

I'm presuming by bottom filter you're talking about an undergravel one, personally I'd ditch that and get something like an eheim internal, the flow rates are excellant and with the basket filled with floss they're really effective. (and they're also really cheap (about £17)

Maybe it's just me, but I shy away from setting up a tank without a hood/lid. Granted I have 3 cats and 2 dogs that would use an open tank to drink/fish from, but I have seen too many of our fish (including the puffers) zoom to the top of the tank (some banging off the lid) to feel comfortable with no cover.
