Just got a couple of shots of our target/brown?? puffer and wondered if anyone might have some more certain ideas on exactly what he is.

He's a pain to photograph - likes to lurk behind things all the time. These are his "feeding colours", he's just stuffed himself full of mussel!

Sorry for not responding earlier, kinda missed this topic.

I think we've decided he's a brown puffer (t. turgidus). The leirus is very similiar, but Archie doesn't have a red target. Thanks for mentioning that variant though, otherwise he is a very close match.

It's very difficult and I'm not sure we'll ever know for sure, but it's about time I decided on something!
