I was out this evening in a local pub...and i had a peek in their lovely tank...
i am really no good with species...but i will try to describe what i saw.

3x angels..one looked like it had white spot.
5/6 tetras with red heads
4x tiger barbs
4/5 ones with quite long fins but not massive (googled..were Gouramis)
and a 6inch loach....EDIT..been scouring the net for what this was and it was a......gold nugget

the tank was a Jewel and it looked a tad highter than my 70L....with gravel a clay pot and a log

shocking!

I worry about the television being turned up to loud in which I have a tank in, imagine the noise level of a pub. I couldn't bite my tongue, I'd have to ask a question or two, especially regarding the white spot and a suitable sized tank for starters

The Tetras with red heads where probably Rummy Nose

How long has the tank been in this pub & how often do they have to replace their fish?

You never know, the owner may have a truley massive tank elsewhere & rotates his stock, or he genuinly doesnt know about stock levels & suitable fish.

If you are concerned just start a polite conversation about it with him/her rather than go into fully rightious indignation mode straight off. You may just make a new friend.

+1 on all of the above.

How was it filtered? If you couldnt see an internal, did you consider they may have 1 giant external filter keeping them all comfortable, or as above, the stock is rotated?

I dont think peoples tanks should be judged until you truely know how they are run, and if you havent the courage to ask, you wont know....

it wasnt really a pub i go to often....so couldnt say. But there was a big rectangular filter and some sort of air stone/pump making bubbles.
besides all my friends were taking the pee...and saying..oh look a tank with fish in!!! isnt that novel? And... now shes gonna name them all...watch!!

so i get the impression maybe i talk to much about fish tanks!

How would fish rotation be acceptable though? This would stress the fish and would probably have to go through the whole setting up of heirachy again... Whether the tank was filtered with 2 fx5's or not, the tank described isn't suitable for the Angels, or the loach, or 4-5 Gourami's or realistically the Tigers...

been scouring the net to find out what the "loach" was and it was this...

Or maybe you could do what I have done. Our local Carehome has a tank which was neglected and badly stocked. I asked if I could look after it. (free of course) The residents love watching the fish but the staff haven't the time or the know how. Now the Tank is much cleaner, I just need to rehome the outsize Plec which is in there. I have also changed the stocking. Is it Far from you? if not give it a go.

If its the one in the picture then I think its one of the larger varities as the smaller ones tend to have bigger spots... I think. Don't quote me on it. Lol.
