Hi

Buying a tank that has one of these fish in, have researched the net and tried to read some articles on here, a good view of the this fish (in the tank i am getting) is in picture 9 of this link (bottom right of pic)

My Questions are;

1. Can i feed it frozen bloodworm, or this is complete "no-no" for all Malawi Cichlids? I read on one site that this fish can have bloodworm as part of it's diet

2. Any other advice about best diet?

Thanks

That would be a Male Lambardoi as females are blue striped. Personally I would never give my Malawis bloodworm although I know many that do but to date none of my Malawis have suffered from bloat wheras a couple of friends that do feed bloodworm have.

My Malawis get a good range of foods that include: Frozen..spinach, Ruto Malawi mix (this is the green one), brineshrimp and mysis. Fry foods include..Hikari Cichlid Excel mini pellets, JMC catfish pellets and tetra prima once in a while.
