Pseudotropheus Demasoni Cichlids

im looking to get 10 Pseudotropheus demasoni cichlids could any one give advice on how many male to females i should get any advice would be great
 
most people recomend 1male to 3 female. the males need females in the tank to fully colour up

This doesn't work with demasoni. You want to end up with a group of atleast 10-12, with one maybe 2 males if you have a large enough tank. They are really tough on one another so having a large number will spread out any aggression.
 
I keep 2 groups of trios with no issues so big groups is not always the rule :good:
do you intend on keeping other malawis with them or a species tank? also what size tank are you going to use?
ps im just up the road in maidstone and have a few demonsoni fry growing out at the mo :good:

hi im only going to be keeping Pseudotropheus demasoni cichlids in this tank and its 3ft bout 130litres. ive got 10 on order for after xmas.
