Ps4?

Has anyone found any information regarding the possibility of a new console from Sony? I've found lots of speculation but don't think Sony has officially confirmed any plans for a new console just yet. Here's some suggested concepts for the possible new console... can't say I like them to be honest!

Anyone got any thoughts of whether we can expect a replacement for the PS3 anytime soon?

I certainly hope so... If the PS3 lives up to it's claimed 10 year lifespan we shouldn't see anything new before 2015, not to mention the fact that the PS3 console has only just started to sell at a profit...

Yeah it has a 10 year cycle. And Sony has hinted that this will remain true for their next console.

Expect to start hearing more and seeing REAL Sony concepts in about a years time. Then expect them to announce a release date for early December 2015. Then expect them to delay it for another year.

Then expect it to upset early adopters as always. Then after another 2 or 3 years it will find it's Market and will have enough updates and accessories. Not to mention enough games, to get lots of people interested.


That's the Sony cycle.

They're pretty bad at having a decent product at launch, but very good at listening to all the citicism and acting on it in updates.

the controllers in the first pic are the original ps3 controllers but the testers hated them and said stick to the original so they did

Where did you get that from? The original PS was only released at the end of 94 i think, which certainly doesn't fit in with your ten year cycle.

the one on the right is the most likly one because the rest are just the ps3/2 with the word ps4 on it. i have to say i have ps3 and there is news that they are making new controles that are fully motion sentivity. its in one of my playstation mags

they wont make a ps4 for a good few years yet same with xbox and yeah the sony and microsoft have realised how much money there is in selling motion sensor stuff (just look how much the wii sold) so xbox 360 has natal coming out this year and the ps3 has some sort of controller coming out i think...

what a laugh. many PS3's didnt last two years, and still sony make people (who dont know what they are doing) pay to replace it. it was 4 years, after launch, before the unit was, even, reliable. (YLOD, blu-ray deaths)

Sony do listen, but only after they have your money.

I purchased my PS3 the day it came out, still works absolutely fine. If it breaks out of warranty they offer a next-day replacement for only £100, that is very very generous of them.

microsoft also really messed up with the xbox im on my 4th console since launch (even the one i got on launch day broke within one day it completly destroyed all the disks lol) and that has partially broken (its a elite as well) it takes a good few attempts to get it to read the disc i am a full supporter of microsoft but they did totally mess up. plus it cost £80+ to repair and they dont even repair your console they send you out a re conditioned model most of the time which breaks again so im going to keep having to take the disk out and put it back in lol

i used to have a ps3 as well but i sold it as there used to be no good games out on it that i could not get on the xbox (which also had exclusive content) but i wish i did not sell it i want to play dead rain! all the good looking games are starting to emerge on sonys side of the field as well as microsofts.

think im going to start saving up again and get one (i say that will blow alll my money on fish stuff lol)
