Fish Crazy
A couple of months ago I had a costia infestation in my community tank that I diagnosed with my microscope (great piece of kit). The stock was as follows:
1 male betta
2 panda corys
2 otos
Lots of pink ramshorns
The only treatment I had that wouldn't hurt the corys was protozin at a half done but I was told that even at a half dose, the snails would probably die but I didn't have much of a choice so I just hoped for the best. Not one dead snail. After the treatment, everyone seemed fine but now the costia are back. Only problem is that I now have 10 cherry shrimp in the mix too. From what I've read, cherries are pretty sensitive to protozin, but then apparently so were the snails, but they all got through the treatment fine.
Are there any costia treatments that would be ok with everyone in the tank? Or will the half dose of protozin be ok?
