Protective Betta?

I am wondering if I seperate my 10 gallon tank and give half to fireball and let the mollies have the other half, if that would be a suitable solution?

There are only 2 mollies in the 10 gallon and its only temporary due to the fact the my one molly is going to have babies and I want to keep her safe from the other fish. I put both my girls in there so they are not lonely.. The babies are going to go in the breeder box and once they are big enough they will find a happy home with a good friend of mine!

Someone shouldnt ask for advise if they are not going to take it.. So thanks so much for helping me I really appreciate it!

That should be fine if you give him half of the tank space. Is it heated and filtered? You can get dividers with holes in by Penplax....this means that the water and heat will circulate to your Betta too.

that tank would be fine with a divider so long that the betta is not directly exposed to a high filter current.

as i said, gouramis + bettas = disaster. I'm glad you caught it in time and followed advice. Many people ask advice and choose not to follow it when it turns out to be an inconvenience. I'm sure Fireball will have a very happy home. The sooner you can get him in an established environment, the better. The more 'moving around' that you do the higher the chance he will become stressed and possibly fall to disease. A divided 10g would be a very, very, great home for him.
