My tap water has been really weird lately and my PH has been running really low, quickly.
I noticed that one of my fish was a little sluggish so I checked the Ph and sure enough, the PH was definitely low. I maintain a 7.0 PH level in the tank. I have a tank with 2 Parrots, a green terror, 2 Rainbow Cichlids and the odd ball survivor from a previous batch of fish is a Yellow Labido (the one who was acting sluggish).

Normally I use the Jungle product pH Increaser or decreaser accordingly to get the level right, but was out of the increaser. I had to leave town unforunately so my mother went to the petstore with the empty bottle and they had informed her that this product no longer is carried/made. They told her to buy the Aquarium Pharmaceuticals product, "Proper pH 7.0". She called me when she got the product and I was hesistant, because first of all, the people who work at this place have given me terrible help which was costly for me on more than one account. However, we needed to rasie the pH so the proper ammount that was called for was added to the tank (1 included scoop for every 10 gallons). After the first amount was added, the ph was still low at 6.8 so we did another treatment and the water is now EXTREMELY CLoudy! When I can catch a glimpse of the fish in the tank, they appear to be fine but the tank looks like white smoke. ALSO, the pH maintained a 6.8 level.

I took a quick picture for display..

Could someone help me out with this and let me know if this is dangerous for my fish? Any help would be appreciated !

I wouldn't use these ph products there not worth the hassle, i would let your fish get used to your tap ph.
As for the cloudy tank probably the ph stuff.
What are your stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate.

I would never add more chemicals to my tank than i really have to. As the tank matures the pH should stabalise and go down a bit anyway. I have a tank ph of around 7, and a tap pH of 9ish! And that's with no additives.

I should probably note a couple of other things...

the cloudy water shown in the picture is only like that from the Proper Ph7.0

Before that was added my tank was crystal clear and I have never had any cloudy water before.

ALSO, you both mentioned letting the tank stabilize on its own with the pH. But for the last year I have had to use thi ph increaser to get the level to 7.0 I have two neighbors that have fish tanks in the seperate house and they both have problems with low PH in our tap water...one mentioned keeping at least one real plant, which I have...

in regards to the cloudy water, does anyone know of or have used this product before that can tell me why this has happened?

Sorry never used ph products always been warned to stay away from them.
I would maybe do this thread in chit chat more people will help you over there, or beginners.

How low is the pH of your tap water? The cloudiness may be from adding chemicals that aren't needed. Posting the water test results will help, as well as explaining your water change routine, and any other chemicals such as which dechlorinator you use.

Fish acclimate to a wide range of pH values, your tap water is probably fine for your fish as it comes from the tap with some dechlorinator added if you have chlorine and chloramine.
