KBowling, often, obviously not always, the problem with guppies that cannot carry their caudal fin with a straight spine is related to rapid growth of the young fish. There are all kinds of things that can be done to make livebearers grow faster but many people who show their fish in competitions do not use those methods because they lose lots of show points for a fish that cannot readily carry their tail. There is probably nothing wrong with your fish genetically so the fry will look great if you don't take all of the rapid growth shortcuts.
