Problems With Guppy Tail

I had a guppy do this a couple days ago .. sadly it died. If it happens again I'll be doing the salt bath treatment.

That anti internal bacteria med by interpet will be fine.

One more question - treatment says stir the dosage into 1/2 litre of warm water - from the tank, or fresh? And if fresh - dechlorinated or not?

I just use tank water.

right, wish me luck everyone. I hope my guppy pulls through, he is so pretty and his friend will be devastated to have no-one to zoom round the quarantine with :(

Fear, stress, or poor diet/enviroment conditions can start this up. I personally have never seen fin rot look like that on a fish before. When I had fin rot in the past it always stayed on the ends, but it would chunk off as I see your gups is starting to do.

Water parameters are perfect, but I only got the new guppies on Saturday, so I guess the stress of the move might have caused it? My other guppy looks fine - he has a chunk out of his tail but was like that when I got him, its nibbled though I am sure as you can see the see through new tail starting to grow. But he was such a gorgeous blue/silver colour I bought him anyway regardless of nibbling!

My guppy died :( . Poor little thing. I feel so bad but I know there was nothing else I could do for him, this finrot came so fast. What a horrible disease. I will be buying specific medication for this disease so that if another fish gets it, I can give them a fighting chance.

Naw!
is anything nibbling on it.
what kind of fish have you got in your tank?
i have no idea what would be causing that .
sorry
