Yeah, I'm completely lost here...
A while back I had problems with my interpet filter as It kept starting and stopping so I replaced it with a brand new one.
2 months down the line and i'm having the same problem????? Its nothing to do with how i'm maintaining it because I have the same model in another tank and that one has been fine for about 2 years now.
The only thing I can think of is that its too close to the bulb due to the lid being quite thin which may be causing it to overheat?
I don't know, what do you guys think?

Depends where the motor/impeller is in the filter? If it's at the bottom I don't see why it would overheat, the water would probably keep it cool enough.
Might just be faulty? These things do happen :) Might be worth giving Interpet a ring?
Personally there's very few filter types I'd recommend, Interpet wouldn't be one of them because of the amount of problems I've heard people having with them.

The impeller is close to the top. I'm a very unlucky person but having two filters go faulty in a row is a bit too unlucky

I dunno - I find it hard to believe customers who come in and try to say the same but I guess it can happen.
Is there adequate water being pumped through? Is the impeller getting caught or not lubricated enough?
Hard to diagnose these things :p

Yeah, it's almost completely submerged apart from the venturi switch. Hmmm?

Could it be the plug? Change the fuse? :S
I'm so DIY illiterate it's not even funny aha.

Yeah, I'm completely useless at fixing things.
Turn it off, then turn it back on again. If that doesn't work, kick it.
That's generally how I fix things

I have gravel, not sand so that can't be it either.
