Problems Again ! Fin Rot Comming Back ?!

Any redness to the greyish spot on the tail, like a circling or red on the outside of the spot.
Just want to make sure it dosnt resemble a cauliflower.
Forget the maracyn its not working how long have you been using maracyn on the fish.
Any white stands coming out of the spot.

It doesn't looks like columnaris to me (as far as I read about it).

Does it look like it ? No cauliflower or flufy or anything reed (blood) just color changed.
I'll try tetracycline after a week break (with betafix) and I'll let you know.

I wouldn't leave the spot if the fish is not weak start the tetracycline now.
Bacterial infections can do internal damage.
A fish can go down hill fast with bacterial infections.

Something is not right ....
The second day tetracycline and the tail looks worse - few more shreds. The fish is fine, flaring and active but not eating like a pig anymore.
What else can it be ? Fungal ?
The fish looks healthy but the tail to be a decline ... It's just the tail. No other fins or gills or body.
And Tetracycline (Maracyn TC) makes yellowish foam ... yuck. I have to clear the surface because the betta wants to breathe and he looks puzzled by the foam.
Give me a brilliant idea, please.

Sounds like the bacteria infection has took its toll on the fish.
Once a fish stops eating as you know not good news.
How much of the tail has gone.
How old is the fish?
With having the spot as well the finrot is a secondary bacterial infection, odds go down getting them better.

I bought him from Petsmart because I felt sorry for him .... so big in a small jar. He looked miserable. Since then he had the color spot on the tail but it was smaller and lighter. I have him for 6 months.
No part of tail is gone just 1 big tear and few little shreds now.
He eats a lot. But since tetracycline he is spiting the food then eating it again. Usually he just gobles. He is still very interested in my finger=feeding time and comes to get his share.
I am not giving up. He doesn't act like a sick fish.

PS: now I know why you think a part of the tail is gone .... because of the pictures. No, he is just turning to play with the toy and the upper part looks like missing but it's just a shred .
I'll take better pictures.

Gills are perfect strong color and when he flares I can see them both looking impresive. Eyes looks good too.

All you can do is carry on with the med and hope he pulls through bless him.

We finished 10 days TC, nasty med .... the acrylic fish tank is stained.
The fish looks good, eating, active, the body has a nice color (I fed him brine), overall good.
But the tail is the same. The stain is the same. No deterioration but no healing either.
What else can I do ?!

I'll put carbon back for few days to see if it gets worse ....

What else can it be ?! It's not responding to :

He has a perfect betta poo (big and brown). You saw him in pictures, he is nothing like skinny.

What is this sinister thing you worry about ?

It's not TB and it's not dropsy. What else ? It's not a parasite.
Fungus ?!

Please give it a thought .... Sorry, keep asking you but .... if cannot cure 1 fish ... I shouldn't keep fishes anymore .... I'm a bad fishkeeper.
