Ive had a sliver shark for s couple of days now and its got a problem.
he imediately seemed very shy and has gradualy deteriorated, now he has lost all his shine and is more opaque than silver, all his fins are damaged and have some fungi on them!

I have seen no signs of bullying by the other fish (guppies and a flying fox) and the water seems fine for PH and Nitrate!

my tank

clearly visable flying fox and poorly shark top right!

Any ideas?

could be cos its not eating?? try feed it some blood worm! my silver sharks go mad over it!

sorry its not much help but worth a try i sopose?

Sorry to hear about your fish
You could treat the fungus with pimafix but Silver sharks like to be with at least one other silver shark and your tank doesn't look big enough to house fish that get as big as this will. They grow very fast too.

Silver sharks/bala sharks are shoaling fish and will feel stressed and insecure if kept on their own (and when silver/bala sharks feel stressed they fade in colour), you really need to get another 2-5 more sharks depending on how large your tank is (what are the measurements of your tank BTW :) ?).

Thats right they need to be in a group 3+ really ideally 5 or more but they get BIG so a lot of people don't have room for them.
Also primafix does a good job with fungus, you can also put some melafix in as well to help him heal up its an antibacterial solution too :good:
Mine go mad for the large tetra cichlid floating sticks.

Looks like you have an SAE in there, i have one and hes part of the bala shoal! You could try getting another SAE type.
