Hey everybody! I have two female guppies in a five gallon tank. One female is VERY pregnant. Now the other female (normally very easy going) is attacking the pregnant one. I don't have the option of moving her since my other tank is fully stocked. It seems like it won't be long until she has fry but I know that breeder nets can be bad for pregnant females. My husband and I thought maybe we could place the problem female in the net instead and leave the most pregnant in the larger part of the tank. Any thoughts? By the way, water is good. ph 8, amm 0, nitrites 0, nitrates 20. Tank has been very very good overall up until this problem. Thanks, Candi

It might be okay, but if there is a problem female, she may be more agitated in the breeder net. Although I don't like to use net breeders at all, if you're worried about the pregnant fish, Guppies are smaller than other livebearers and I would be less reluctant about putting pregant fish in the breeding net if necessary.
