Pretty Funny Vid Of An Aggressive Pleco

The fish dont seem to be happy do they

My main issue with this video is that the owner doesn't seem to have given the pleco anywhere in the tank to hide under - plecos don't like being forced to be in the open all the time, given a chance many will prefer to live in a cave etc most of the time.

Oh, so very true, I didn't think about that though I have a few things on my mind right now (Uncle very sick).

I know my pleco, Camo, loves his cave.

Also, it seems like the piranhas don't have any cover as well and some of them look really chewed up. I've never kept piranhas before, but I would assume that you would give them some kind of cover to allow them to get away from each other, just like exodons (I keep those).

Just looks like any other plec being its normal anti-social self :dunno:

Would I be right in assuming that the goldfish was put in the tank as food fo the arowena?

If it was, then its way to big to be a feeder fish for the arrowana's- feeder fish should always be small enough to be easily swallowed whole by the predatory fish, and goldfish are not advisable as feeder fish either way as they have large scales and lots of slime and are not particularly nutritious for predatory fish to eat.
With the large majority of predatory fish, it is completely possible to move them onto dead prepared foods, so feeding live fish to predatory fish is often a largely personal rather than necessary choice of the predatory fish owner.

I would presume the goldfish was put in when it was much smaller ("my once small feeder"), but escaped predation and grew up to display typical goldfish behaviour, resulting in it chasing the fish that it was supposed to feed.

The humour is in the irony... .
Also ironic is that that goldfish has had a much healthier life than the millions that go in bowls with owners that are actually intending on caring for the fish.
