Hi

I was wondering whether by searching for your own CO2 Regulator, Needle valve and CO2 canister (from my very shallow knowledge thats basically all u need for pressurised CO2), would you be saving plenty of money?

Or is it much more worth it to just purchase a system such as the JBL profi 1 from your LFS??

I mean...is it usually a hassle to find/assemble all the components if you have to search for each seperate one??

sorry i got loads of pressurised CO2 questions....i too, like many others here, am sick and tired of DIY CO2...I have had many problems with it...

In my setup... yes. I got a 5lb tank for $115, regulator with needle valve for $85. The hosing is just the air line hosing from my lfs because I can't fine co2 hosing small enough. =$200 (CAD)

For me to buy a 'aquarium' co2 setup it would have cost between $350 and $400.

Call local welding shops for tanks and regulators, as well as places that sell equipment for the home wine/beer brewer, and also places that re-fill fire extinguishers. I know they fill tanks, but they might sell ones too.

Cheaper for me too. A 6.5kg cylinder of gas=$32. Cylinder rental per month=$10 Regulator=$140 (OUCH).....I allready had CO2 resistant tubing from my bubble ladder. 6.4kg of gas will last me forever

To buyan aquarium specific setup I would have got 500g of CO2 and the cylinder, regulator etc. for $500!!!!!
