It really gets me annoyed when they don't look after their customers and are willing to lose out to the internet.

Dont take it out on em too bad....
Its tough to pay all the bills to run a physical company and then have compete with someone running a virtual store...

no, I don't take it badly at all ;) but when a loyal customer asks for an internet pricematch it would be stupid to say no - especially when it's no big deal to order it in with all the other normal stock and still sell it for slightly more than cost.
Same as selling to an employee (in some cases).
I just think it's their loss - too bad ;)

woohoo!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D

It's arrived :D Havent actually seen it yet, but the boyfriend said it arrived this morning :) I am soooo excited and can't wait to get home. Perfect timing too as binliners come of 20 gallon tomorrow. :D

great news houndour! I'm still waiting for mine to arrive...! Your just getting me back for having to wait for your EI stuff aren't you ;)

Help!!

I didn't get a 3 pin plug with my kit.

I have a 2 pin plug that reads:

MCT Transformatoren GmbH
SIGR 2/230/12-00-40E ta25'C
230V~50-60Hz 12V...0,125A

Nur fur trokene Raume = only for dry room??

Mine does fit in a "shavers only" plug (1 amp fuse).

Help, what do I do? What do I need?

Sam as far as i know you can get a 3 pin converter, basically it looks exactly like a 3 pin plug but when you open it up you place your complete 2 pin plug inside it, they come as standard on Juwel tanks as all of their fittings are 2 pin but come with these converters, if you tried a large electrical shop im sure they would be able to help you, or maybe put a thread in the hardware section and see if they are commonly available, thats of course if you dont want to just chop the 2 pin plug off and replace it with a 3 pin (yes i know about the warrenty) im not sure what else you can do, bit strange though they sell it like that for the UK market.

thanks zig. I worry about electrics and fires etc too much to start wiring it up to a 3 pin myself regardless of any warrantee. Theres no hurry as it can run without the solenoid and it has to run 48 hours before plugging in anyway. I shall take your advice and take the plug to a little electrical shop I know, he helped me with my gameboy sp I got from the us...which I nearly fried. *sigh* I've learnt my lesson though :) I didn't just go an plug the jbl straight in the shaver plug!! lol

help, im useless!

I've set up the CO2...I'm sure everything is as per instructions, but no bubbles are coming out!

The way it describes it in the manual is as if when you turn the valve then the bubbles will come out immediately :(

Its been about 10 mins, but nothing.

Any ideas?

oh :(

Well, I've never used pressurised CO2, but I'm fairly sure that you should see bubbles straight away...is there a safety valve or anything that needs to be undone?

i've just been looking and reading everything.

The only thing I can think of is the one way valve is the wrong way, but it's not.

And maybe the solenoid is something to do with it, but it says not to plug it in for 48 hours, so it can't be.

I've turned everything off for now. I will have to have a look at the weekend. I'm worrying too much to leave it overnight. Think it might explode or something.

Theres definitely gas, cos we unscrewed the dosage valve too far and it came out of that!!

It does says in the manual for the solenoid valve to be first connected to a continuous current before opening up the valves on the bottle and after running in for 48 hours then the solenoid valve can be supplied with power from the preffered power source eg: timer switch.

What does continuous current mean. maybe this is what i've done wrong :S

Just a guess... but if the valve isnt plugged in, its prob closed...
it prob only opens when its got power to it...

they prob say 48 hours so the co2 has time to 'calm down' from being shipped...

2 cents worth... ;)

I would agree, but the way the instructions are written...its says toopen the CO2 bottle thing, then turn the dosage valve SLOWLY and it says the bubbles might clump together or come out slowly at first and this requires 48 to 'get going'. Then it says you can plug in the solenoid.

I just dont get it. I cant plug in the solenoid cos I dont have an adapter yet. But I'm sure you're right that its to do with the solenoid.

Hold on you haven't plugged in the solenoid so therefore you will not get any co2 comming through, the solenoid opens and shuts but needs power to open and shut thats the whole idea so you don't have to keep messing with the dosage valve once you have set it up right. So walt you are quite correct.

You plug it in, to run in for 48 hours just to get the slime layer going on the diffuser. I decided to unplug mine at night anyway. I now have it on a timer with a three pin plug connection with the adapter plug that was supplied to the mct transformer.

I'm sure it is illegal to sell an electrical item with out the 3 pin plug adapter in the uk, DO NOT REMOVE the MCT Transformer plug My friend that has a degree in electronics did explain to me why not because its to do with the action of the solenoid.

houndour you must tell the company you purchased from, you should have the three pin plug that the two pin solenoid plug, plugs into (to many uses of the word plug) :D

I know the instructions are a bit basic and do go back on themselves.

So good luck on getting the plug, then it will all fit into place, turn it all off, plug in solenoid, open cylinder valve then open dosage valve real slow.

It strange as everything is clockwise to turn off and to open is anti clockwise.

PS my wisteria is overtaking my tank any tips on prunning  :flowers:

I also forgot to add that you'll also hear the solenoid work as you can here a definite click when it opens and shuts.
