hi all

my yellow lab has been holding for about 2-3 weeks now, its face/neck is swelled up good and proper so i have moved her into a small clearseal tank which is filtered and has heat, and i have put in a cave too on a sand substrate. the thing is it hides in the cave all day and does not eat, however has still not released any fry im wondering if this is normal? how long usually should she be holding?

quick update! stripped her today and she has delivered 19 fry. going to do one last check to make sure none are left but theyr sooo tiny its the first time any of my fish have given babies so lots of reading to do now how to look after them :D

i did try to take some pics but not coming out very good on the camera at the moment. need a bit of advice though, ive put the mother back in the main tank, and the fry are in a small clearseal tank with filter and heater, and a sand substrate. is there any special precautions i need to take? im going to feed them on crushed flake for the time being. the water temp is 27 degrees, my friends telling me its too warm and may burn the fry if they go near the heater.. any advice? also anything else i need to do to make sure they all make it through
