Dear fellow TFF members,
I’m a big fan of promoting the wonderful planted aquarium hobby as much as possible, wherever and whenever I can. With this in mind I’d like to shamelessly advertise my forthcoming articles in Practical Fishkeeping (PFK), the UK’s bestselling fishkeeping magazine.
The first article is a small, basic piece on yeast-based (commercial and DIY) CO2 systems – great for the beginner. This is due out on 9th August. The following months will include a three-part series on high-tech planted aquariums and then another three-part on aquascaping. I’ve also submitted pieces on Riccia fluitans and “mid-tech†aquariums. So hopefully we’re talking up to nine consecutive months of planted aquarium articles. You will also be interested to know that some members have kindly contributed photos of their fine aquariums – Justin Law, oldwhitewood, harlequin and zig. Thanks again guys.
One of my main goals is to boost the popularity of the planted aquarium hobby in the UK. For me personally the hobby is underrepresented in magazines like PFK so rather than whinge I thought I’d do something about it. When we see the how far the hobby has progressed in the Far East and US it makes us realise just how far behind we are. Hopefully I will have contributed a little bit to redress the balance.
Some of you may have noticed that my username has changed from gf225 to my full name. The main reason for this is because I refer to www.fishforums.net in most of the articles. I mention that if any readers wish to ask any questions or leave feedback they can do so here. Hopefully we’ll get some new enthusiasts on board.
So if you don’t already buy or subscribe to PFK then what better excuse do you need? It’s just a pity it’s only available in the UK and Ireland. The articles may be published later on their website but we’re talking some time. www.practicalfishkeeping.co.uk
Thanks for looking,
George
