Hello,

I have a 40 US gallon tank. It's been up and running for about 2 months. I have a Penguin 170 power filter with biowheel and a Eheim cannister filter 2213. Two Nutrafin CO2 diffusers. 60 watts of light.

My plants are growing really well. They are green and lush and very tall. I have about 22 fish and they are all very happy. The water is very clear. Nitrite is 0.
Things are going pretty good.

People keep telling me that I should remove my Penguin filter. They say it creates surface agitation, causing loss of carbon dioxide and will cause problems for my plants. Do I have to remove the Penguin if things are going really well?

Please help. Thank you in advance.

I agree with Konrad. Personally I run a Pengiun Bio-Wheel and a Fluval 404 on my 125 Gallon. I don't see any reason to remove it. :)

Yeah, keep a watch on your plants. If they are OK, then dont do anything.
